Indications and Usage:

Clobex (clobetasol propionate) Spray, 0.05% is a super-high potent topical corticosteroid formulation indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis affecting up to 20% body surface area (BSA) in patients 18 years of age or older. Clobex (clobetasol propionate) Lotion, 0.05% is a super-high potent corticosteroid formulation indicated for the treatment of psoriasis and relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses in patients 18 years of age or older. Clobex (clobetasol propionate) Shampoo, 0.05%, is a super-high potent topical corticosteroid formulation indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe forms of scalp psoriasis in subjects 18 years of age and older. Clobetasol propionate has been shown to suppress the HPA axis at the lowest doses tested.

Side Effects and Contraindications:

Clobex (clobetasol propionate) Spray, Lotion and Shampoo are not recommended for use on anyone younger than 18 years of age. Clobetasol propionate should not be used on the face, groin, or axillae, and the total dosage should not exceed 50 g (50 mL or 1.75 fl oz) per week. Patients should use Clobex Shampoo, 0.05%, Clobex Spray, 0.05% and Clobex Lotion, 0.05% only for the minimum period necessary to achieve desired results. Clobex Lotion: In controlled clinical trials, the following adverse reactions have been reported: burning/stinging, skin dryness, irritation, erythema, folliculitis, pruritus, skin atrophy, and telangiectasia. Clobex Shampoo: In controlled clinical trials, the following adverse reactions have been reported: burning/stinging, pruritus, edema, folliculitis, acne, dry skin, irritant dermatitis, alopecia, urticaria, skin atrophy and telangiectasia. Clobex Spray: In controlled clinical trials the following adverse reactions have been reported: burning, pruritus, infections and infestations, nasopharyngitis, upper respiratory trac infection, skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders. Treatment with Clobex Spray and Clobex Shampoo should not exceed 4 weeks. Treatment with Clobex Lotion of psoriasis beyond 2 weeks should be limited to localized lesions of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis that have not sufficiently improved after the initial 2 weeks of treatment with Clobex Lotion. Treatment with Clobex Lotion for steroid-responsive dermatosis should be limited to 2 weeks.
